Disc Springs Product Overview

Overview
The Disc Springs is a cone -shaped disc-like spring that is made by drilling the center of a disc. Unlike conventional springs, it has special functions.
Capable of withstanding large loads with small deformation, it features short stroke, less space, easy combination, maintenance and replacement, enhanced level of economy and safety, and long service life.
Meanwhile, it is also considered as a spring that is difficult to design. When used in a stacked manner, a slight dimensional difference may impose great impact on the load, and cause a reversed relationship between displacement and load.

Disc Springs Product Features

Features of Disc Springs
1. Large stiffness, strong shock absorbing and vibration absorption ability, bearing large load with small deformation, and suitable for small axial space requirements
2. This spring has variable stiffness.
3. Using the same disc spring with different combinations can make the spring characteristics change in a large range
It can be used in different combinations, such as parallel overlapping, in-line combination, or parallel and in-line combination.

Overlapping use can result in unstable performanceEnsure stable performance during overlapping use
・When used in combination, the truncated cone height and disc thickness of the disc spring has a great impact on its performance. If the dimensional consistency is not high, stress may be unevenly distributed in the cross section. In this case, a good CPK index can effectively improve its fatigue strength and shock absorbing capability of the material per unit volume. The service life is thus improved.

Disc Springs Precautions

Changes in inner and outer diameters during compression
Precautions for disc springs - Disc spring coefficient
* When the stroke of the Disc Springs is greater than 75%, the load increase will be limited, but it has a great impact on its service life. Therefore, its optimal operating range is between 10~75% of its maximum displacement.
* When Disc Springss are used in combination, a guide rod or guide sleeve is required for the inner diameter or outer diameter, and the spring shape may change with the compression, so it is important to consider the gap between the spring and the guide part.

Frequently asked question (FAQ)

Question: What is the difference between a butterfly spring and a coil spring?
Answer: 1. The butterfly spring can be installed in small spaces with large load, and its characteristics can be varied in a wide range through combination of use.
2. When bearing load, it can get larger stroke. It has the load characteristics of low hysteresis and high reproducibility during compression and decompression.
Question: What types of disc spring materials are available in the market?
Answer: The standard material is 60Si2Mn, while the best material should be 50CrV4, equivalent to the imported steel 51CrV4. The rest are unconventional materials such as stainless steel.
