  A small-size, high-power, low-cogging, low-vibration, and low-noise DC brushless motor equipped with a newly designed magnetic circuit (PAT) enables stirring without impairing the environment of a laboratory. A speed feedback system always responds to changes in load during stirring and keeps the set rotation rate. A current-limiting circuit is installed as a safety device as a matter of course and opening the chuck cover automatically stops the motor. With a forward and reverse rotation function, the direction of rotation can be switched with a touch of a button even during stirring. A control knob with a switch is used for turning on and off and setting the rotation rate, which is easy to use. A hand-fastening chuck which does not need a chuck handle, and a motor lock mechanism linked to the chuck cover enable one-handed operation. A collet is used for retaining the stirring shaft, which provides high retaining force, restrains shaft runout and is compatible with the forward and reverse rotation function (an optional collet can change the diameter of the stirring shaft). A timer function is installed as standard and automatic start and automatic stop are enabled by setting a given time (in minutes, up to 99 hours and 59 minutes). The timer function is linked to the forward and reverse rotation function, and automatic reversing is possible by setting the time of reversing and the total operation time of the timer.
